"Got Rights?"

Zoom
Tuesday, · -

In 1789, James Madison drafted a bill that introduced amendments to the United States Constitution that strove to strengthen individual rights and enhance the power of the federal government. From that original proposal, 10 were ratified and became the Bill of Rights in 1791.

Join us as we discuss this important, but often overlooked, document in our nation’s history. We'll talk about Madison’s journey to get amendments proposed, how the language evolved over the first summer in Congressional history, and we'll look closely at two amendments whose interpretation has become controversial: the 2nd and the 10th Amendments. ****
