KSC Seminar/Webinar Series: Are all Offenders Created Equal? Examining Special Populations within the Criminal Justice System

Mason Library - 240
Wednesday, · -

Presented by Dr. Rita Augustyn, Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice: Think about an inmate conducting their daily routine within a correctional facility. Whom do you picture? What activities do you imagine them performing? Now think about their transition back into society. How successful do you think they will be? Why? What you pictured may be the reality for some inmates. However, the general inmate population encompasses many special populations. A special population consists of individuals who require special care, treatment, or management within the criminal justice system. This seminar will provide a brief introduction to special populations within the criminal justice system with a focus on corrections and reentry. Attend in person or via Zoom: https://keene.zoom.us/j/87527648670 (no registration necessary).
