Christopher Evatt

Faculty pianist Christopher Evatt performs a selection of works by 19th and 20th century Jewish pianist-composers, including Mendelssohn, Alkan, Moszkowski, Friedman, Achron, and Godowsky. The varied program spans from the Bach-inspired grandeur of Mendelssohn's Prelude and Fugue in E minor , to the blend of Indonesian and European culture in Godowsky's Java Suite , to Joseph Achron's Two Pieces, Op. 56 , which incorporate elements of Jewish folk music into a sophisticated impressionist landscape.
