Professor and Student as Co-instructors of Thinking and Writing: Forgiveness and Reconciliation, a Workshop
Inviting students to participate in teaching alongside instructors can be a powerful experience for the faculty member, the TA or learning assistant, and for the other students in the class. Leaf Seligman, long-time ITW instructor, and Meg Zuttermeister, her former student, have worked together for several semesters on designing and teaching the course Thinking and Writing: Forgiveness and Reconciliation. In this workshop, Leaf and Meg will provide participants with some background and information on the course itself, and on how they have worked together, not as student and professor, but as co-instructors. Leaf and Meg will then move into a restorative circle process, and model the work they do in class, using queries, writing prompts, and a short video, and inviting participants to respond in the circle.
This workshop is open to the entire KSC campus, including students, faculty, staff, and administrators, and it sponsored by Faculty Enrichment and the Integrative Studies Program.
While RSPVs are not necessary, it is helpful to have an idea of who and how many plan to attend. Email Irene McGarrity (imcgarrity@keene.edu) if you are planning to come, or if you have questions about the event.
This event is part of the Faculty Enrichment Events calendar.
