Batteries & Lightbulbs
Batteries (especially rechargeable ones) should be recycled to prevent heavy metals and toxic materials from entering the waste stream.
Students can find battery buckets in every laundry room and building on campus. Use these buckets to recycle your dead batteries.
Not a student? Bring your batteries to the Keene Recycling Center for free recycling.
Be Safe: Tape the terminals of your rechargeable batteries before dropping them into the battery bucket to prevent fire and explosion.
Light Bulbs
For On-Campus Students
Students living on campus have 3 options:
- Bring your spent light bulbs to the recycling office in Joslin basement
- Ask your RD to submit a work order request for ROCKS to pick-up your spent light bulb from the recycling room
