Maintain physical condition of the warehouse area
Maintains warehouse/Shipping/Receiving staff performance results by motivating, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees
Supervise all warehouse activities including Inventory control, Cycle counting, Shipment of product to customers and suppliers, Receipt of raw materials, products and services
Create and Maintain cross training matrix for warehouse team
Train new personnel on all work processes and safety of equipment used
Analyze and improve shipping procedures to create efficiencies where appropriate
Knowledge of all outgoing shipping documentation, prepare bills of lading for shipment to customers, obtaining optimum freight rates, handling of less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, etc.
Works with purchasing/planning team to plan deliveries for next day shipping, and develops the schedule accordingly, including interviewing potential suppliers of outside truck and driver services
Participate in development of area and department KPI's and achieve targets.
Maintain inventory accuracy, Manage and mitigate inventory irregularities with minimal impact to the customer
Review and interpret import and export regulations, laws and requirements including local country import laws, other government agency (OGA) regulation and US and foreign export regulation
Knowledge of proper packaging of materials for shipment using methods that insure safe and damage free delivery of material to customer/Supplier
Work with Customs Brokers or Freight Forwarders to ensure trade compliance, and participate in compliance audits, developing and conducting internal training programs
Serve as prime contact for import/ export compliance and government inquiries or notifications relating to compliance issues
Stay current on U.S. import/ export regulatory changes and proposed legislation
Fill in for any manpower issues in the Warehouse, Shipping and Receiving
Complete timely and accurate ERP transactions to receive and move material
Inspect incoming items for visual defects and proper counts
