Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responds to calls from pharmacies, doctors offices, hospitals and other outside agencies. Facilitates release of records from PCPs to include getting release of records forms signed by the client.

Monitors incoming laboratory and other medical reports and requesting medical information from other providers as requested by medical staff. Distributes labs and other medical reports to proscribers. Faxes requested labs to the pharmacies.

Triage calls from other staff members regarding medication. Obtains prior authorizations as needed.

Processes all medication requests with agency time frames. Calls in all refills after the physician's order is signed by the prescriber. Keeps the doctor's schedule.

All staff are cross-trained to assist with font desk duties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Criminal background check is required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma plus (3) years' experience in medical setting with strong telephone and organizational skills. Ability to communicate with peers; self-starter with ability to multi-task. Transcription experience helpful. Prior insurance experience essential. Dependable.
