Chief of Staff

Role: The Chief of Staff will provide strategic vision and planning to UP Education Network, playing a crucial project management role with the senior leadership team, serving as the internal authority on policies, management contracts, and regulations, and managing relationships with external stakeholders such as board members and key district and state personnel. The Chief of Staff reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and serves on UP Education Networks senior leadership team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced environment, can manage many competing priorities and constituents, and can work efficiently under deadlines. This individual will be expected to work out of the networks central office approximately 75% of the week, and at the networks schools and district offices approximately 25% of the week.

Specific Responsibilities:
Work with senior leadership team to evaluate strategic external and internal issues and to identify proposed solutions;
Conduct research and analysis to help determine annual growth strategy, including but not limited to decisions related to pace of growth, geography, district negotiations, and turnaround vehicles to pursue or avoid;
With Chief Administrative Officer, determine how UP Education Network should deploy its limited resources to maximize its impact;
Assist Chief Administrative officer with stakeholder engagement as needed (i.e., key stakeholder meetings, etc.);
Create, launch, and maintain network organizational systems such as stakeholder databases, policy management systems, internal network communication strategies, and school launch and announcement task lists;
Assist CEO in drafting, negotiating and updating contracts and agreements;
Manage projects including chairing board task forces, internal initiatives requiring interdepartmental coordination, and organization-wide work with external consultants;
Assist senior leadership team in managing work streams, developing project action plans, and communicating and administering strategic initiatives;
Prepare for and facilitate senior leadership team meetings, all staff meetings, board task force meetings, and meetings with senior district and state staff; and
Assist Chief Administrative Officer in developing organizational strategies, delegating and managing internal work streams, completing projects, preparing for key meetings, and managing daily communication.

Bachelors degree is required; and
Current authorization to work in the United States A candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
