Interested candidates should be flexible, self-motivated and willing to work on a variety of projects such as: development of the safety management system, fire drills, air sampling, laboratory audits, ergonomic evaluations, accident/incident investigations and follow-up, maintenance of HAZMAT rooms and equipment, job risk assessments, and construction safety. This is a great opportunity for a learning experience at a growing biotechnology research and manufacturing site. Exposure to:
-Conduct ergonomic assessments
-Develop a tracking mechanism / metric for new employees, targeted completion of assessment, date of completion, etc.
-Identify and Inventory ergonomic products / tools for lending program
-Support the Framingham MASS Biologics HSE committee's ergonomic subcommittee
-Assist in investigation, root cause, CAPA for accidents/incidents that occur at the site
-Work with CAPA owner to ensure timely completion
-Work with JRA groups to ensure completion of task based risk assessments for processes occurring in the manufacturing plants
-Confined Space Program
-Update inventory of Confined Spaces
-Review P&ID's of systems to ensure LOTO points are appropriately identified
-Inventory of CSE rescue equipment
Air & Noise Monitoring:
-Assist in the collection of air and noise monitoring events at the MFG plants
-Participate in the training of sweepers & evacuation coordinators
-Participate in conducting drills of the EAP (Fire, etc.)
-Assist with the collection of environmental metrics - water, gas, electric usage
-Must be currently enrolled as a student in an accredited undergraduate or graduate academic program and have completed at least one year of study
-Working towards a degree in Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences or Environmental Science
-Strong knowledge of MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
-Strong attention to detail, quantitative and analytical skills
-Demonstrated leadership skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Desire to work within a team environment
