School Director Job Posting
The Childrens House Montessori School seeks a dedicated, qualified, experienced Montessori Director for our premier school located in Littleton, NH.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess high standards and believe that the care they provide is invaluable. We are seeking a Director who has demonstrated skill establishing effective relationships with staff, parents, and children. This position requires excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Early Childhood Education, Education, Business Management
Five years successful experience managing and operating a Montessori school or other early childhood education center
Effective communications skills, both verbal and written, required
Meet the NH Childcare Licensing requirements for a Center Director
Montessori certification or willingness to attend Montessori training
Successfully manage the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of all school and programs that fulfill The Childrens House Montessori Schools mission, vision and guiding values. Supervise all aspects of the school and related staff, including the facilities.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, support, and evaluate all staff, interns, and volunteers.
Oversee and coordinate all educational programs offered by the School, ensuring that they are engaging, current, fun, have a lasting impact and that they meet state and national learning standards.
Ensure that the programs are being evaluated for program effectiveness on an ongoing basis and adjust programs as necessary.
Keep abreast of trends and changes in early childhood education.
Work with staff and Board to ensure the facilities are safe, clean, and that they meet the requirements of the NH Childcare Licensing Bureau and that they are inviting and engaging for the children.
Assist with providing staff coverage when needed.
Participate in programming and special events when possible.
Maintain a positive relationship with the children enrolled in the School programs.
Ensure that the School business office operates in a professional manner, including: fielding telephone calls, interaction with vendors, and that accurate admission and business/financial records are maintained.
Work with the Treasurer and Board President to prepare an annual budget for the Board of Directors to approve.
Work with the contracted Accountant to ensure that accurate documents are filed with the IRS, and assist with the independent annual financial review.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the parents of the children enrolled in the School programs.
Assist in strategic planning and implementation of the Plan approved by the Board.
Collaborate with other area schools, organizations, and community groups as appropriate, to enhance and enrich The Childrens House educational culture and experience.
Assist in the promotion, marketing and public relations for all School activities, interacting with the public and media as requested/needed.
Work closely with the Board of Directors, keeping them informed of School progress against the Strategic Plan goals, enrollment, and financial status through a written monthly report.
Ensure all policies established by the Board of Directors are implemented.
Attend and participate in the Board meetings.
Attend occasional related conferences, workshops, and area professional meetings and networking events to promote and strengthen community ties and to further professional development.
