The Safety Manager for Surge Resources, Inc. will promote safe work practices at Surge and its client companies throughout New England.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
On-site visits to Surges client companies to consult about, survey and assess, safety practices with follow up reporting to Surge and client with recommendations for improvement. Consultation with clients regarding compliance with local, state and federal safety standards.
Preparation and delivery of continuously updated client-specific Safety Manuals, further customized as necessary for site-specific plans.
Coordination of, and/or conduct of, safety training for client companies as their needs and requests are identified. Consultation on establishment and function of safety committees.
Investigation of every work-related injury to assist in the management of the resultant claim and to identify safety short-comings and consult on available corrections.
Provide back-up assistance on injury reporting and the management of open workers compensation claims.
Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Safety or equivalent.
Working knowledge of OSHA and similar state standards.
Ability to work independently.
Competent speaking and writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Powerpoint, Office, Word and Excel.
Ability to drive oneself daily throughout New England in own transportation. Overnight travel is rare but possible.
Ability to move about freely in client company environments including multiple stories, production areas; physical activities may include walking, standing, ascending stairs and ladders, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting (up to 25 lbs.); when in the office, ability to use common office equipment and sit for extended periods of time at work station.
