Job Description

Works under the direction of the EMCOR Senior Safety Director and his direct reports with all aspects of EMCOR SQM activities, including but not limited to, administration, company and site visits, safety, security, environmental, quality, productivity, business continuity planning and Fleet & Driver programs .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

Manages the SQM Good Work Practice outreach program under the direct supervision of the GWP Program Director.

Assists in the monitoring of processes, procedures, and operating conditions in the workplace

Works with others to help to develop and implements strategies to avoid hazards

Assists in ensuring that the company and assigned operating companies are in compliance with local, state, and federal workplace environmental regulations

Assists in the monitoring of safety documentation within the SMIS

Assists when directed operating company Safety Directors with development and implementation of safety action plans

Monitors when directed employee exposure to hazards and makes recommendations for prevention to operating company management

Assists when directed operating companies with the investigation of any serious accident involving hazardous materials, equipment or employee injury

Assists with the implementation of the ZERO Injury Program

Contributes to EMCOR SQM Focus Class training when directed

Travel: As required, but may be as much as 50%

Qualifications: --

B.A. / B.S. or other appropriate combination of education and experience

Three years minimum experience in the area of environmental health and safety

Ability to understand business processes

Strong interpersonal skills

Knowledge of local, state and federal workplace environmental regulations

Excellent management, communication, writing, and organizational skills

Aptitude for using computer based safety software

Work Environment and Physical Demands:--
General office, field construction or industrial environment. Considerable stress may occur at times. May involve exposure to work hazards. Job requires extensive walking, climbing and standing.
