Must have two years experience as an RN within a school and/or residential setting and have knowledge of applicable state regulations. Must possess M.A.P (Medication Administration Program) certification or possess qualifications necessary to acquire certification. Must possess a valid driver's license.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must possess a Bachelor's degree in nursing with licensing as a Registered Nurse; Master's of Science in Nursing or matriculated in Master of Nursing program preferred. Experience in working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues required. Previous administrative experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
When the relevant service specifications requires nursing, a Registered Nurse must oversee the establishment, implementation, and review of medical protocol and staff training for medication administration, as well as be available for consultation for medical issues. Specific nursing responsibilities are as follows:
Develop policies and protocols on medical topics/issues;
Monitor the physical condition of clients and ensure that client medication plans are being followed;
Consult with healthcare providers regarding youth with high medical needs;
Coordinate with outside medical providers;
Supervise nursing staff and develop policies and procedures related to nursing and health
Provide medication certification trainings for staff as well as trainings on health-related issues.
