Safety Data Sheets

Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are required for all chemicals used on campus. This includes art supplies, cleaning supplies, chemical and biological lab chemicals, motor vehicle fluids, photography supplies, first aid chemicals used in Nursing, etc. A Safety Data Sheet should be provided by the chemical manufacturer and outlines all information a user needs to know about using that chemical. This is required by law, and we are required to have them available for all faculty, staff and students to view. Most current SDS can be found on the manufacturer’s website.

All departments are responsible for collecting, maintaining and updating their own Safety Data Sheet Files, and all Safety Data Sheets are required to be forwarded to the EHS Office for inventory. It is recommended that Safety Data Sheets be updated every 3-5 years. To add or remove Safety Data Sheets from the Online Inventory below, please contact the EHS Office at julie.Kroupa@keene.edu.
