Sanctions issued by the Office of Community Standards for recognized Student Groups between 2018-2024
This page is updated biannually by the Office of Community Standards and are organized based on semester the outcome was issued.
Fall 2024
No Organizations had Student Organization Misconduct outcomes in the Fall of 2024.
Spring 2024
Alpha Sigma Phi
Spring 2024 (1st Case): Agreed to take responsibility for an Off Campus City Code Violation.
As a result of the investigation and associated organizational misconduct process, Alpha Sigma Phi has agreed to the following sanctions by Keene State College:
- College Probation effective February 16th through April 26th, 2024
Spring 2024 (2nd Case): Agreed to take responsibility for (a) Hazing Policy; (b) Hosting an alcohol function where underage students consumed alcohol; (c) Purchasing or providing alcohol to minors.
As a result of the investigation and associated organizational misconduct process, Alpha Sigma Phi has agreed to the following sanctions by Keene State College:
- College Probation effective April 30, 2024 through December 13, 2025
- Social Host and Hazing Prevention Training
- Restrictions of type of social event
- Continued support meetings with the Office of Community Standards and the Office of Student Involvement
Men’s Rugby
Spring 2024: Agreed to take responsibility for (a) Hazing Policy; (b) Hosting an alcohol function where underage students consumed alcohol
As a result of the investigation and associated organizational misconduct process, Men’s Rugby has agreed to the following sanctions by Keene State College:
- Deferred suspension effective March 5, 2024 through December 13, 2024
- Restriction of participation
- Social Restrictions
- Social Host and Hazing Prevention Education
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Spring 2024: Agreed to take responsibility for multiple violations including (a) hosting an alcohol function where underage students consumed alcohol; (b) Off-campus city code violations; (c) Purchasing or providing alcohol to minors
As a result of the investigation and associated organizational misconduct process, Tau Kappa Epsilon has agreed to the following sanctions by Keene State College:
- Suspension effective April 30, 2024 through May 09, 2024
- Deferred suspension effective for two semesters upon reaffiliation
Women’s Rugby
Spring/Summer 2024: Agreed to take responsibility for multiple violations including (a) hazing; (b) hosting an alcohol function where underage students consumed alcohol; (c) Purchasing or providing alcohol to minors
As a result of the investigation and associated organizational misconduct process, Women’s Rugby has agreed to the following sanctions by Keene State College:
- Disciplinary Suspension effective July 9, 2024 through May 10, 2025
- College Probation effective May 11, 2025 through December 19, 2025
- Alcohol and Hazing Prevention Education for all returning and new members
- Overview of New Member/Player process
Fall 2023
Alpha Sigma Phi
Fall 2023: Agreed to take responsibility for (a) off-campus city code violation
As a result of the investigation and associated organizational misconduct process, Alpha Sigma Phi has agreed to the following sanctions by Keene State College:
- Official Warning
Spring 2023
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Spring 2023: Agreed to take responsibility for (a) off-campus city code violation; (b) failure to obey federal, state or local laws; (c) disorderly, disruptive or indecent conduct; (d) providing an environment for an underage person to consume alcohol
As a result of the investigation and associated organizational misconduct process, Tau Kappa Epsilon has agreed to the following sanctions by Keene State College:
- Deferred Suspension effective April 1, 2023 through December 15, 2023.
- Complete a mandatory fire safety inspection with Keene Fire Department by April 2023
- Complete Alcohol Education as a Chapter prior to the end of Fall 2023
- Schedule and complete two follow-up meetings with the Office of Community Standards during the Fall Semester
Spring 2021
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Spring/Summer 2021: Agreed to take responsibility for hazing.
As a result of the investigation and associated organizational misconduct process, Tau Kappa Epsilon has been issued the following sanctions by Keene State College:
- Hazing Education (approved by Student Involvement) to be completed by 10/01/2022 or prior to the recruitment of a fall new member class.
- A College Advisor must be obtained by the start of the fall 2022 semester.
- Conduct Probation from 04/26/2022-12/17/2022
Phi Lambda Chi
Spring 2021: Agreed to take responsibility for hazing, physical harm, and disorderly conduct.
As a result of the investigation and associated community standards process, Phi Lambda Chi has agreed to the following sanctions by Keene State College:
- Suspension of new member recruitment effective as of May, 26 2021 through May, 9, 2022.
- Suspension of organization social activities effective as of May, 26 2021 through May, 9, 2022.
- College Probation effective May 26, 2021, through May 15, 2023.
Phi Lambda Chi is currently inactive.
