Eric McCurdy received his doctorate in counseling psychology from The University of Akron, and a bachelor’s from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He comes to Keene State from Smith College, where he taught courses in Counseling and Disinformation. At KSC he teaches courses in Counseling Skills, Psychopathology, Theories and Practices in Clinical Psychology, and advanced Clinical Seminars.

Dr. McCurdy’s research focuses broadly on gender, with specific focuses in traditional masculine norms and women’s experiences in STEM careers. He’s excited to work with KSC students in the Gender Research Lab, which is currently focused on examining predictors of a man’s likelihood of engaging in mansplaining behaviors. Outside of his work, Dr. McCurdy likes cats, cars, and being outside in nature.
