Stephanie Carroll

Stephanie Carroll received her MS in Work Environment – Industrial Hygiene from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She also holds a BS in Marine Safety and Environmental Protection from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
Before joining WorkWISE NH in 2019, Stephanie’s experience in safety and health spanned a 10 year active duty career in the United States Coast Guard (USCG). She started as a Casualty Investigator, examining the circumstances surrounding all maritime related sinking’s, injuries, deaths, collisions, or fires. She then worked for the USCG’s Health, Safety, and Work-Life Field Office, providing safety, environmental health, and industrial hygiene support to USCG shore facilities and vessels. Support frequently included written program reviews, site walkthroughs, sound level surveys, biological sampling during indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations, various chemical/particulate sampling during welding, sanding, grinding tasks in aviation, and bulk/wipe sampling for asbestos and lead on aging buoy tender vessels. Stephanie also spent time at Incident Command Post’s (ICP) Houma and New Orleans, LA as Safety Officer, during the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill response. She focused on responder heat stress, boater safety, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, decontamination procedures, and IAQ.
Stephanie is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and professional member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) since 2015 and the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) since 2022.
