On Campus Flu and COVID vaccine clinics!

Good afternoon, KSC Students, Staff, and Faculty,

Flu season is upon us and typically lasts from October to as late as May, with the highest occurrence being in January and February. We strongly encourage you to get your flu vaccine early and take care of yourself to prevent the spread of the flu! The Wellness Center and Human Resources at KSC have partnered with Walgreens to help deliver you this season’s flu shot.

The COVID Leadership Team has also been working with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NHDHHS) to provide upcoming COVID vaccination clinics. COVID vaccination has proven to be effective in reducing severity of illness and lessening the risk of longer-term complications from COVID. Anyone 12 or older who completed their COVID-19 primary series or received a booster dose at least two months ago, should get the updated booster. If you have recently had COVID-19, it is recommended to wait 2-3 months following illness to obtain the bivalent COVID booster. We encourage you to take advantage of these upcoming clinic dates to help protect yourself and our community!

Additional Options

Flu and COVID vaccines are also available at your PCP office, area urgent cares including Convenient MD, or at our local Walgreens, Rite Aid, or CVS pharmacies at little to no cost. If you have health insurance, please bring your card (or photo or your card) and prescription card, if applicable, with you. If you have concerns around the potential cost, please call ahead.

Take care of yourself and prevent the spread of the flu and COVID:

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If no tissue is immediately available, use your elbow.
  • Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub (like Purell). Rub hands with sanitizer frequently until it is completely dry.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
  • Keep your immune system strong by getting a minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep a night
  • Push fluids to avoid dehydration
  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
  • Wear a mask while ill and around others to reduce risk of spreading illness.

Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe and healthy!

Be well,

The Wellness Center, Human Resources, & The COVID Leadership Team
