Building Hope in Rwanda and Healthcare for All
The event is being organized by the HGS/SOC 327 Sociology of Genocide class. It begins with a Taste of Rwanda with Rwandan appetizers, music, and scenic views. There will also be a Silent Auction of Rwandan arts and crafts to benefit the Rwandan non-government organization Health Development Initiative that is working toward building a non-discriminatory healthcare facility for historically marginalized Rwandans. Next, students will make brief presentations providing background information on Rwanda and the HDI project. Finally, Dr. Aflodis Kagaba will discuss Rwanda's healthcare system, the need for the healthcare facility, and how we can help.
To request accommodations for a disability, please contact the coordinator at least two weeks prior to the event.
