Groups/Fancy at Carroll House Art Gallery
The Art Department is pleased to present three exhibitions one entitled Fancy by Manchester, NH artist Christina Pitsch, one entitled Groups by Concord, NH artist Megan Bogonovich and one entitled …For Liam a group show of ceramic artists from across the United States in the Carroll House Galleries from February 26 – March 28 (closed March 14-24).
Artist Christina Pitsch of Manchester, NH installed a mixed media sculpture on site at the Carroll House Gallery. Her work is a hybrid of materials and techniques driven by larger conceptual questions of cultural iconography and gender identification. Frequently her work uses animals (and fragments thereof) to tell stories about the complexity of relationships. Pitsch earned a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville NY and an MFA in Sculpture from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, Alfred, NY. She is currently a practicing artist in Manchester NH. Her recent shows include New Works at the Kingston Gallery, Boston MA. and Beasticon II at the Mark Miller Gallery, NYC.
Artist Megan Bogonovich of Concord, NH will also be on site at the Carroll House Gallery to install her ceramic pieces. Bogonovich’s hand built ceramic sculptures combine naturalistic and abstracted imagery to suggest the possibility of the real and the imagined cohabitating. Bogonovich earned a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD and an MFA in Ceramics from The University of Montana, Missoula, MT. Her recent exhibitions include Santa Fe Clay, Santa Fe, NM, The John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Sheboygan, WI and she was recently an artist in residence at the Archie bray Foundation in Helena, Montana.
