Film Showing: The Alliance
In the winter of 2018, after nearly a decade of planning, oceanographer Bob Pickart and a team of 22 scientists prepared to sail into the heart of the Iceland and Greenland Seas to collect rare data on the rapidly changing Arctic. They thought their biggest challenge would be the winter weather; it proved to be something else entirely. Join us for a big-screen showing of The Alliance, an award-winning documentary about conflict at sea and the challenges of scientific endeavor by New Hampshire filmmaker Amanda Kowalski. After the screening, stay for a Q&A with the filmmaker.
7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Putnam Theater at Keene State College. Registration is encouraged at harriscenter.org/events. For more information, including questions about accessibility, contact Brett Amy Thelen at thelen@harriscenter.org.
