Queer History for Queer Liberation: A Conversation about LGBTQ+ Public History and the Pink Triangle Legacies Project
This is a special event for KSC students only; all students are welcome to attend! Join public historian Dr. Jake Desai-Newsome for a conversation about the Pink Triangle Legacies Project (PTLP), a grassroots initiative that honors the memory of the Nazis’ LGBTQ+ victims and fights against homophobia and transphobia today. You’ll learn about the PTLP’s resources and ways to get involved, including paid internships and volunteer opportunities. This is your chance to chat about history, discuss career advice, and learn about the challenges and rewards of public history initiatives.
This session will include students from Dr. Emily Robins Sharpe’s undergraduate class, ENG 391: LGBTQ+ Coming of Age Literature, and will be open to all other students on campus who wish to join. It is hosted by the Cohen Institute for Holocaust and Genocide Studies in conjunction with the KSC Office of Justice, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity.
Advanced registration is not required; however, we ask that you please bring your student ID card with you for sign in upon arrival.
This event is part of the Owlnet calendar.
