Grief is without a doubt a journey, and music has the power to illuminate its path. “Reflections of the Heart: Musical Meditations to Peaceful Healing” is an expressive piano recital series exploring the emotional journey through grief and finding meaning after loss. Featuring works by New Hampshire native, Amy Beach, Chopin, Debussy and Rachmaninoff, the program observes the stages of grief—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—through deeply expressive and reminiscent music. Rachmaninov’s lush harmonies, Debussy’s emotional depth through sound, Chopin’s introspective lyricism, and Beach’s tender sensitivity guide listeners through heaviness of heart and searching for inner peace. Through collective and communal reflection, may these musical meditations offer you comfort, healing, and a reminder that love endures far beyond any loss.

Guest Speaker, Leaf Seligman:

Leaf Seligman has had the good fortune to collaborate with Kyle for a musically infused reading from her most recent book, Being Restorative. Several years before that, they worked together at Youth Services for the City of Keene. As a writer, restorative practitioner, itinerant preacher, and circle keeper at the jail and in community settings, Leaf endeavors to co-create spaces that acknowledge and welcome grief, recognizing that grief teaches us who and what we love and long for.
