Hypothes.is -annotating the web with students

Hypothesis is a freeonline tool designed for collaborative annotation across the web. AmberDavisson (COMM) will discuss how she uses Hypothes.is to engage students withrequired readings and activities. Students can annotate web pages, pdfs andEPUB files and can be used in a variety of ways including:

  • pose questions or seek clarifications about the author’s key ideas,
  • call attention to a key phrase or premise,
  • compare and contrast with other readings,
  • challenge an author’s claims, evidence, assumptions, or perspective,
  • propose an alternative idea,
  • respond constructively to an annotation posted by another reader.
