Remembering Jonathan Schwartz (1973-2018) Through His Films
The Film Studies Department invites you to our November, 7 First-Thursday Screening at 7:00pm in Putnam Theater/Lecture Hall at the Redfern Art Center in Keene, New Hampshire.
Marking his absence from our campus for just over a year, our November First Thursday program honors our late, much-missed faculty member Jonathan Schwartz (1973-2018) through a screening of some of his films, several made while he taught at Keene State College.
Our 70-minute program ranges from early animations to gem-like meditative miniatures and longer travelogues - including two late films made with the participation of KSC colleagues (one shot on a school trip with students to India). It includes works made over a dozen years and embodies Jonathan’s whimsy and cinematic lyricism as well as his philosophical spirit.
