Presented by Dr. Kirk Sanger: In America, 20.5 million people over the age of 12 have a substance use disorder. Approximately1.4 million are currently incarcerated individuals and half of those have an opioid use disorder. This lecture will introduce the audience to the issues facing those inside and outside of the criminal justice system regarding current trends in treatment for opioid use disorder. Dr. Sanger will discuss his recent research as it relates to opioid treatment outcomes of those previously incarcerated.
