Creating the Beloved Community: Immigrant and Refugee Roundtable
This month we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who fought for love, justice, and equity. In honor of his work we invite you to Creating the Beloved Community: Immigrant and Refugee Roundtable. This is an opportunity to hear compelling stories from refugees and immigrants in our community. The human experience is that of movement and change. Unfortunately, some journeys are overlooked. We are refocusing the lens. In the nature of Dr. King’s work, communities need to look toward those experiencing injustice to take the lead in movements toward justice. No person’s story is alike, yet all of our stories are connected. We recognize that every member of our community is valuable and necessary to fulfill Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s vision of the Beloved Community. This space encourages us to hear about community, resilience, and love from our neighbors.
Offered in partnership with Mohammad Saleh, Kile Adumene, Yacouba Sangre, and Valentina Pinzon
