Secondary Methods II: English
Course Summary: Students are placed with a cooperating teacher in a local middle or
high school and spend 30 hours in the field working with this teacher. Students spend this
time in a variety of ways—observing, tutoring students, monitoring small group work, talking to
staff, and teaching. Students keep a log of their hours, listing dates, times, and activities.
Students must complete four official observations and teach four lessons; written reflections are required for these activities.
Field Experience: 30 hours. Students must work out their time in the schools with their cooperating teachers according to their schedules.
