Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for a study away program, students must:
- Have completed at least one semester of college-level coursework
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (please note that some programs may require a higher GPA)
- Demonstrate the maturity, independence, and adaptability needed to succeed in a cross-cultural environment
Application deadline for Spring 2026 is October 1, 2025.
Study Away Approval Process
Step 1 - Submit your study away approval request: Log into KSC-Via and apply for the program that interests you by the established deadline.
- Please apply to only one program. You may change your selection later if needed.
- If your program isn’t listed, complete the “Design Your Own” application. A staff member from GEO will contact you to discuss your interests and options.
Step 2 - Approval and next steps: Once your KSC application is reviewed and approved a GEO advisor will reach out to:
- Discuss how your program choice aligns with your academic, personal, and financial goals
- Guide you through the program/host institution's application process
- Walk you through preparation steps for your upcoming study away experience.
For Approved Study Away Students
Once approved to study away, students receive support from the Global Education Office (GEO) as well as faculty and staff across Keene State College.
GEO assists with:
- Navigating the experience from pre-departure through return
- Course selection guidance at the host program
- Cross-cultural adjustment strategies
- Safety, security, and health information
