Concert Band

Something NEW is coming your way on April 24th! Join the Keene State College Concert Band as we celebrate the return of the Wet Ink Concert Series! This biennial concert series celebrates all-NEW music for the wind ensemble and concert band idiom. For a piece to be considered for this program, it must be no more than four years old. And what a lineup we have for this concert! We continue our relationship with composer Matthew Kennedy (the inaugural composer-in-residence for Wet Ink) with the world premiere of his brand-new Symphony No. 3. Subtitled “Death is Nothing At All,” this four-movement symphony is a tribute to influential and passionate teachers who passed before their time. We’re also thrilled to present consortium premieres of Love and Nature, a three-movement work for wind ensemble by Gala Flagello, and Stone Colors, a vivid three-movement depiction of the colors of the American Southwest masterfully captured in sound by Stephen Michael Gryc. The Wet Ink Concert Series at Keene State College is a robust continuation of the KSC Concert Band’s mission to make Keene State a haven for the creation and performance of new music.
