Redfern Presenting Series: Zenith Ensemble

Thursday February 23, 2023 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

The Redfern is excited to present one of Northern New England’s premiere professional choirs, Zenith Ensemble , in residence this season. Core members of Zenith will engage in several workshops, chamber coachings and one-on-one lessons with Keene State College Music Department students. The evening concert at the culmination of the residency will include New York composer David Lang’s spine-tingling work, Little Match Girl Passion. The Passion , which includes organizational echoes of Bach , is a Pulitzer and Grammy-winning composition and is a pinnacle work in Zenith’s repertoire.

Themes of this special residency, in alignment with Redfern’s mission, will center around providing rich cultural and community building experience for a broad range of audiences. In the musical program, issues of poverty, food insecurity and charity will be highlighted in a myriad of works from the Renaissance to the modern day.

KSC students will need to obtain their complimentary tickets in person at the Box Office rather than ordering online.
