Keene State’s exercise science major prepares you for certifications from American College of Sports Medicine or the National Strength Coaches Association. This degree changes lives.
Allied Health
Do you want to help others improve their health through exercise? The exercise science, allied health option integrates healthcare and fitness. Designed for students considering careers in medicine, athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and other graduate programs. Students learn the art and science of human movement through a broad curriculum that includes: Biology, Psychology, Chemistry, Physics, and Courses in the Integrative Studies Program.

3+2 KSC to PSU
Level up by becoming a state-licensed athletic trainer. If you’re driven to provide preventive services, emergency care, rehab, therapy and more to athletes, you can earn a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from KSC and then a master’s degree in athletic training from PSU, all in 5 years. It’s all possible here at our inclusive, close-knit campus.

Students who complete a degree in exercise science at Keene State are eligible to sit for the American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist examination or the NCSA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist examination during their last semester enrolled in the program. After that, it’s up to you to decide where you want to take your degree because you’ll be ready for anything.
