Emergency Planning

The KSC Department of Campus Safety is located in Grafton House on Wyman Way. Our business line is 603-358-2228. In the event of an emergency, dial 9-1-1.

Campus Safety Officers have the full authority granted by Keene State College to enforce the rules and regulations as outlined in the student handbook, staff handbook, and PAT handbooks. They have the authority to detain students and request identification and will immediately involve the Keene Police Department if criminal activity is observed or reported.

While the Keene State officers do not have arrest powers, they will request arrests to be made by the Keene Police Department. Full and constant cooperation between Keene Police Department and the Department of Campus Safety ensures protection for all community members. In addition, the Keene Police Department actively monitors and records criminal activity made by students at off-campus locations.

Crimes against persons, such as robbery, assault, and sexual assault, are a particular concern of the College. Here are some very basic precautions:

  • A crime can occur at any time
  • If you choose to walk, do so with others, along well-lighted, well-traveled routes
  • Learn the locations of the emergency blue light telephones which are placed throughout the campus and do not hesitate to use them to summon a Campus Safety Officer

We conduct these services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on the campus of Keene State College, located in the City of Keene, in the Monadnock Region of southwestern New Hampshire.

Emergengy Telephone Line: 9-1-1 Note: This line should be used for emergencies only!
