Internationally recognized performing artists Bente Illevold, euphonium, and Dr. Jasmine Pigott, tuba, present an evening recital of low brass music. Bente Illevold presents new original and commissioned works for the euphonium and electronica from her native Norway, and Jasmine Pigott performs a mix of classic works and her own compositions for tuba.

Both artists are internationally renowned performers and educators on a mission to elevate the recognition and prestige of their low brass instruments. Bente Illevold hails from Norway and is a pioneer in the world of freelance euphonium and musical entrepreneurship. Dr. Jasmine Pigott is a performing artist, educator, and composer from the United States.

The concert will feature music inspired by the lived experiences and fascinating life paths of the performers. Bente will introduce the audience to the beauty and meaning of brass music in Norway. Jasmine’s music is deeply personal and speaks to the transformative power that comes from within. Just as important, both women are actively paving the way and creating space for women’s voices in a male-dominated field.
