Phones

Most faculty and staff at Keene State College have access to their own phones. These are given out through their department budget manager. There are a variety of phones that are used on the system, and they may all be purchased from our distributor, Black Box To order phones, follow the procedures outlined on the Ordering Telephone Equipment

Voice Mail

In general, each phone line that is used by an individual or department has a Voice Mailbox associated with it. Adjunct Faculty often only have a Mailbox assigned to them with no associated physical phone. To request a voice mailbox, please fill out this form.

Unified Messaging

Unified Messaging allows you to use your campus phone or your computer to accomplish the following tasks:

  • Listen to emails and voicemails.
  • Forward, reply, save, or delete emails and voicemails.
  • Receive missed call notification in your email.
  • Interact with your calendar.
  • Locate a person in the global address list or among your personal contacts.
  • Send a voice message to a person.
  • Change your PIN, spoken name, or greetings.

Unified Messaging F.A.Q.

How can I record and change greetings in Unified Messaging?

You can dial in to review and record your voicemail greetings by dialing (603) 358-8877 (x8-8877) or press your Message button.

After dialing in, you may listen to the prompts or say “Personal Options”, or press 6.

You will then be prompted to switch between your personal and away greeting, or record a new greeting. To switch between your personal and away greetings, press 1. To record a greeting, press 2.

After pressing 2 to record a new greeting, you will have an option to record your personal greeting, away greeting, or your name.

  • Personal Greeting – This is the greeting callers will hear after reaching your voicemail.
  • Away Greeting – This is the greeting callers will hear after reaching your voicemail if you enabled your away greeting.
  • Name – This will play your name when callers reach your voicemail if you have no personal greeting recorded. You have the option to record your name, or have Exchange use text-to-speech to pronounce your name.

How do I reset my voicemail password? (Unified Messaging PIN)

To change your KSC Voicemail Password (also known as your Unified Messaging PIN), follow these instructions:

  1. Go to https://outlook.office365.com
  2. Log into your account with your KSC NetId and Password
  3. Click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner next to your name
  4. In the drop down, click on Mail
  5. On the left hand side, go to General > Voice mail

OR

In your desktop Outlook client, select > File. Scroll down and select > Manage Voice mail.

  1. Scroll down the page to get to Reset PIN
  2. Click Reset my voice mail PIN
  3. Select Yes at verification prompt
  4. You will receive an email with a temporary PIN and instructions for logging in and changing your PIN*

*Pay attention to the spoken instructions; the system will verbally tell you the requirements for your new PIN

How to Remove Email Notifications from your Inbox for Missed Calls

  1. Go to https://outlook.office365.com
  2. Log into your account with your KSC NetId and Password
  3. Click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner next to your name
  4. In the drop down, click on Mail
  5. On the left hand side, go to General > Voice mail >Notifications
  6. Uncheck the box next to “Send an email to my Inbox when I miss a phone call” and click “Save”.

Access Voicemail from On-Campus: Voice Commands

  1. From your phone, dial the Exchange voicemail number [8-8877], or press the Message button on your phone.
  2. Enter your PIN followed by [#].
  3. You will be prompted with the commands to say to access the desired option.

Access Voicemail from On-Campus: Touchtone Commands

  1. From your phone, dial the Exchange voicemail number [8-8877], or press the Message button on your phone.
  2. Follow the prompts or you may need to enter your extension (4-digits).
  3. Enter your PIN followed by [#].
  4. Press [*].
  5. Press [0]. You will be prompted with the number to press to access the desired option. They include the following:
    • Voicemail
    • Email
    • Calendar
    • Personal contacts
    • Compose a voice message
    • Personal options

Access Voicemail Options Off-Campus: Dialing Microsoft Exchange

  1. Dial [358-8877]. You will be prompted to enter your telephone extension number.
  2. Enter your 5-digit extension.
  3. Enter your PIN, followed by [#].
  4. You will be prompted with the commands for the desired option. Say the command, or use the touchtone commands. They include:
    • Voicemail
    • Email
    • Calendar
    • Personal contacts
    • Compose a voicemail
    • Personal options

Access Voicemail Options Off-Campus: Dialing Your Telephone Number

  1. Dial your office telephone number [603-358-XXXX].
  2. When your greeting begins to play, press [*].
  3. Enter your PIN, followed by [#].
  4. You will be prompted with the commands for the desired option. Say the command, or use the touchtone commands. They include:
    • Voicemail
    • Email
    • Calendar
    • Personal contacts
    • Compose a voicemail
    • Personal options

Access your voicemail from a KSC phone other than your own

  1. Dial 8-8877
  2. After hearing “if this is not your mailbox”, press *
  3. Enter your 5 digit phone number and press #
  4. Enter your PIN, followed by #
