Student Employment

The Recreational Sports department hires student workers for close to 100 positions.

Students who have experience in sports can be trained to officiate intramural sports games, and those certified to teach group fitness classes may be hired as cycling, yoga, kickboxing, Zumba, and hydrorobics instructors.

Lifeguards must be certified in lifeguard training, first aid and CPR and have prior experience guarding.

Facility supervisors must have current first-aid and CPR certification to cover the Recreation Center and indoor intramural games.

Students interested in applying for positions in Recreational Sports, can do so at the Job Fair held on the second day of classes in August. More information about our job openings and the job fair will be posted in early August. Students with work-study will be hired first. Student work crews will receive training and supervision for jobs. Those with student hourly and hourly authorizations may also be eligible for certain positions in Recreational Sports.
