Cheshire Academy for Lifelong Learning

Keene State College’s Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) is the Cheshire Academy for Lifelong Learning (CALL), which is affiliated through the Institute Network with ELDERHOSTEL. The difference between ELDERHOSTEL and ILR programs like CALL is that our program is not residential. CALL is an educational program aimed at seniors and/or retired folks. CALL was founded in the mid ‘90s, offering non-credit (and non-graded!) courses at the college for senior residents of the Monadnock Region.

We offer a wide range of liberal arts courses at very low cost to participants who take an active role in the planning of the courses and occasionally in the leading of some classes, although most classes are led by paid faculty from Keene State or experts from the area. CALL classes are offered for eight weeks in the fall and eight weeks in the spring.

Membership

An annual membership fee of $20 gives members discounts on Keene State events and provides access to selected Keene State facilities. If you are interested in receiving membership information and the course listing, either phone the Continuing Education office at 603.358.2290, or please click this link(continuing-ed@keene.edu) and email your name, mailing address, phone number, and if you would like to receive our monthly CALL email newsletter, also please include your email address.

CALL membership benefits include:

Spring 2010 CALL classes will be held from March 12 to April 30, 2010. All classes are on Fridays, with occasional indivudual lectures on Saturdays.
