Cheshire Academy for Lifelong LearningKeene State College’s Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) is the Cheshire Academy for Lifelong Learning (CALL), which is affiliated through the Institute Network with ELDERHOSTEL, now known as EXPLORITAS. The difference between ELDERHOSTEL and ILR programs like CALL is that our program is not residential. CALL is an educational program aimed at seniors and/or retired folks. CALL was founded in the mid ‘90s, offering non-credit (and non-graded!) courses at the college for senior residents of the Monadnock Region. We offer a wide range of liberal arts courses at very low cost to participants who take an active role in the planning of the courses and occasionally in the leading of some classes, although most classes are led by paid faculty from Keene State or experts from the area. CALL classes are offered for eight weeks in the fall and eight weeks in the spring. View our Spring CALL Registration Materials (includes welcome letter, course descriptions, and printable registration form) or register online. Spring 2010 CALL classes will be held from March 12 to April 30, 2010. All classes are on Fridays, with four individual lectures on the following Saturdays: March 13, March 27, April 10 and April 24, 2010.
