Hands-On Learning
Your coursework in both introductory and upper-level classes will expose you to techniques for studying living systems in both the lab and the field. These experiences will help you to develop marketable skills that are widely used in life and health sciences careers. Outside of classes, many of our students choose to participate in independent research with faculty mentors, studying topics ranging from stem cell biology and regeneration to seagrass ecology on the NH coast.
We receive funding from the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and other agencies, providing many students with paid research opportunities on a year-round basis.
Previous students have presented their work at conferences around the country and as far away as Argentina. Several have earned authorship on peer-reviewed journal articles, and a few even had their work featured in an issue of Science. You can learn more about our research programs at the websites for The Pellettieri lab, The Roy Chowdhury lab, and The Hays lab.
