Summer is Smart at KSC!

Earning a bachelor’s degree in communications in May 2011, Jennifer Coffey graduated a year early. Through City Year, part of the AmeriCorps program, she wants to work as a mentor in a school. Eventually she plans to earn her master’s degree, possibly in the medical field.

I graduated in three years because Keene State College’s summer session helped me achieve a head start on my life. When I learned I could earn my degree in three years by taking summer classes—and save myself about $20,000 dollars as an out-of-state student by doing so—I said Why not?!

Summer session through Continuing Education definitely helped me accomplish my goal of graduating a year early. I was able to get ahead on my required courses and advance my career goals. I lived on campus while I took courses I applied toward my major. My summer classes were small and my professors were attentive. And I still had time to enjoy on-campus events that were a lot of fun.

Working with people in Continuing Ed was great. They did their best to help me get the courses I needed and wanted to take and they listened, working to understand my needs. One of the best things about Continuing Education is how friendly everyone is. Working with a nice group of people who are always trying to help you really reduces the stress of registering!

Keene State College is a great college to attend. KSC and its summer session helped me become the person I am today.
