Types of Assistance

Three principal kinds of aid are available at Keene State College. One is the grant or scholarship, which is a gift and does not have to be repaid. The second is the loan, which you must pay back after dropping to less than half-time enrollment or leaving college. Most loan programs allow liberal repayment periods and low interest rates. Graduates entering certain careers are sometimes forgiven part of their federal loans. The third kind of aid is part-time employment. Here, students receive an hour's pay for an hour's work and are expected to budget these earnings to meet educational expenses.
