Aspire gets funding

Alan Glotzer and the folks at Aspire have gotten the good word that Aspire has been funded by the U.S. Department of Education for five years, beginning September 1, 2010.
Aspire is a TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) program. Total funding for the five-year grant (submitted last November) is approximately $1.7 million. While it’s currently unclear how many of the 1,500 applying programs have been funded, there are currently some 960 SSS programs nationally.
The grant allows KSC to provide academic support services for low income, first generation and students with disabilities.
