Free and Low Cost Assistive Technology that you can download straight to your personal device! Search programs and applications such as screen readers, speech to text technology, note taking tools and much more that are compatible with your own personal computer.Take advantage of these tools as it can make a significant contribution to your success as a student in college.

ODS Computer Lab

Specialized Software in the testing computers:

The Mason Library also contains an Assistive Technology Workstation on the First Floor. These computers contain Kurzweil, Zoom Text, Jaws and Read & Write Gold.

Read & Write Gold on campus and on your computer!

Read & Write Gold 10 is installed on every computer in the Rhodes computer lab, the Mason Library computer lab and the library loaner laptops. Also, students registered with our office can receive a FREE copy of Read & Write Gold for their personal laptops. Student’s can make an appointment with the Assistive Technology Specialist for a copy and training session of this software. Software is available for both Windows and Mac.

What is Read Write Gold?

Livescribe Pens

ODS has a limited amount of Livescribe Pens to loan out to students who can benefit from then. Livescribe pens record what you write and hear so you never miss a word. This enables you to go back and listen to the lecture simply by tapping on your notes. Learn more about Livescribe Pens.
