Building Events Specialist Team (B.E.S.T.)
All student employees will be members of the BEST. Team members will be assigned one shift per week and duties include setting up or breaking down meetings/events in the Student Center. Employees must be able to lift and move chairs/tables/etc. with the assistance of other BEST members and/or equipment.
Student Center Information Desk Staff
The Information Desk is a welcoming point for visitors as well as KSC faculty, staff and students to the Student Center. Info Desk staff assist in the day to day aspects of operating the building. Duties include but are not limited to answering phone calls, redirecting calls, giving directions, checking out keys and equipment, handling of cash, operation of computers/laptops with Windows OS. Must have availability on weekends.
Building managers are the lead student staff position in the Student Center. The manager is in charge of all building operations in the evening and on weekends. Duties include customer relations with groups and individuals using the facility for meetings, events or just hanging out. The managers are responsible for opening and closing the building on weekends. Previous experience working in the student center is required. Shift hours: M-F 3:30pm-12:00M, Sa-Su 10:00am-12:00M.
The Tech Staff is responsible for supporting the audio-visual requirements of the events that occur in and around the Student Center. Applicants must have some prior experience with sound and/or light boards and systems. Duties include but not limited to set up and operation of laptops, phones, data projectors, projection screens, room hard wire sound systems, theatrical lighting console, portable sound systems, concert sound system. Frequent lifting and bending is required. Must be available for evenings and weekends.
The Student Center Tech Manger assists and oversees specific building operations from a media perspective. Duties include but are not limited to managing house for events requiring audio-visual applications; organizing and directing tech team during load in/load out, set up and operation of concert sound system; maintaining laptops and computers, inventory of all media/tech equipment and supplies, recommendations for media purchases, filing media/tech operations reports.
Administrative Office Staff
Responsible for assisting students, faculty and staff with general Student Center information and room scheduling inquiries. Duties will include answering phones, word processing, and general office support for Student Center staff. Administrative staff will also work as event set up crew. Office hours are Monday- Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm
Night Owl Staff and Game Room Staff
The Night Owl staff serves popcorn & soda, runs the cash register for lunch and even helps with some of the programming. The Game Room Staff attends to the game room. Hours: M -F 9-11:30pm, weekend hours a must, and various other times for special events.
Graphic Design Assistants
Designers create posters, flyers, newsletters, logos, etc. for Student Center programs. Assistants work on the Night Owl Design Team or for the Administrative office.
Community Service Office Student Coordinators
Student Coordinators plan and implement service events and programs for Keene State College including Alternative Breaks, Blood Drives, CANstruction, and more! Student Coordinators represent the Community Service Office on and off campus, participate in leadership development activities, and enjoy a fun, team-oriented work environment.
Students are responsible for tutoring children about 5 hours a week at agencies off-campus.
