Call for Nominations: Honorary Degree and Granite State Award

From the Commencement Awards Committee:

The Commencement Awards Committee invites you to submit nominations for the annual Granite State Award and Honorary Degree for 2017 through a new and greatly simplified process. These awards, presented at Commencement each year, represent a campus tradition that spans nearly 50 years and honors those whose outstanding accomplishments reflect the vision and values of Keene State College.

This year, the Committee has made the nomination process easier in order to encourage broader participation in this important process by all members of the Keene State community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. An email submission containing a paragraph or bullet points outlining the nominee’s accomplishments and suitability for the award are all that are needed. After nominations are collected, the Committee will narrow the field of candidates and may request further background information as needed. Additionally, by reducing the timeframe for submitting nominations, the Committee seeks to condense the process and build momentum for the program quickly. Candidates for either award are not required to be associated with the College.

HONORARY DEGREE CANDIDATES Who would you consider to be an outstanding individual of national and/or international importance whose contributions have enhanced society as a whole or who have otherwise brought significant enrichment or benefit to a particular group?

GRANITE STATE AWARD What New Hampshire person, agency, corporation, or foundation has demonstrated outstanding achievement in their field and has contributed significantly to the welfare or success of our state?

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• A brief paragraph or bullet points identifying your choice for the award and your nominee’s qualifications for it.
• Optional: a link to further information that will allow the Committee to more closely consider the nominee’s accomplishments.
