Spotlight on Philanthropy

From the Development Office:

The William T. Morris Foundation has once again expressed its support and confidence in Keene State College with recent gifts totaling $248,000. The Morris-August Honors students at Keene State College are the big winners with $238,000 earmarked for honors student scholarship and travel awards. The remaining $10,000 will be shared equally by the Cohen Center for annual program support, and the Office of Disability Services for adaptive technology and training. Since 2007, the William T. Morris Foundation has given the College a total of $1,737,000 in support of KSC students and programs.

Former Keene State College employee Mary C. Leonard of Walpole, NH has created two new scholarships that will benefit students with documented disabilities and those majoring in Music: The Mary C. Leonard Endowed Scholarship for Students with Disabilities; and The Jim and Mary Leonard Endowed Scholarship in Music. Mary worked at Keene State College for more than 20 years in the offices of TRIO, Aspire, and Disability Services. Mary will fund these two new scholarships through a bequest of at least $200,000. Until the two scholarships are fully endowed, Mary hopes to make annual gifts in order to fund the scholarships.

Sean Gillery worked with both of these donors to facilitate their gifts.

Also, as reported in the Union Leader, Hitchiner Manufacturing, Markem-Imaje, Safran Aerospace Composites, and Whelen Engineering are partnering with Keene State to provide mentoring, internships, and scholarships to our students. Daniel Henderson worked with these founding sponsors of the program.
