Dr. Candice L. Bosse was invited to deliver a keynote address entitled “La mujer, el espacio y la voz en la poesía hondureña” at the XII Symposio de poesía de escritoras hondureñas in Honduras in December.

Beverly J. Ferrucci (Mathematics) and Eileen Phillips (Math Center) recently presented “Using Children’s Literature to Promote Quantitative Literacy” at the annual meeting of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New England (ATMNE) in Nashua, NH. Their presentation showcased children’s literature and demonstrated ways in which elementary school teachers can share ideas, resources, and tips on how to increase their students’ imaginations and vocabulary, while developing their quantitative, literary, and critical thinking skills.

Alison Pantesco and Mohamed Esa, McDaniel College, led a workshop on November 20 at the annual meeting of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages held in Boston. The topic of the workshop was “_Die Musik der _Wise Guys im Deutschunterricht.”
