Jeffrey Arnett to Speak on Emerging Adulthood November 12

From Ellen Edge, PAT Council and CDC:

The OS Council, the PAT Council, and the Office of Human Resources are pleased to announce that Dr. Jeffrey Arnett, Psychology Professor at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, has agreed to join us on Friday, November 12, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Mabel Brown Room, to talk about the “Emerging Adult.” Faculty and staff are invited to attend.

Dr. Arnett captured our attention through a cover article in the New York Times Magazine entitled “What is it about 20-somethings?”. The article explores Dr. Arnett’s theory of the “emerging adult”, which he considers to be a new developmental stage. Our hope is that his work will be of interest to many on campus, given that the focus of his work is on a population we all work with. Those of us who parent adults in this age group might also find it of interest. You can learn more about his work and other publications at his website: http://www.jeffreyarnett.com/.

Following his talk, please join us for a discussion and luncheon from noon to 2 at the same location!
