Coming to the Redfern: Sônia Goulart Piano Recital, High School Choir Festival

The 1st annual Cantate! High School Choir Festival will be held at Keene State College on Friday, October 29, 2010 between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Invited choirs from New Hampshire will perform and work with KSC’s choral and voice faculty clinicians in the Alumni Recital Hall located in the Redfern Arts Center. This event is free and open to public audience members.

This year’s festival will feature performances by choirs from Hillsboro-Deering High School, Fall Mountain Regional High School, Winnisquam Regional High School, KSC’s Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Canticum Novum. An all-sing event is scheduled to close the festival from noon to 12:30 p.m. All community members are invited to join in song!

The Keene State College Music Department is proud to present a guest artist recital by Brazilian pianist Sônia Goulart, Friday, October 29, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., in the Alumni Recital Hall, Redfern Arts Center on Brickyard Pond. The recital will feature music by Chopin, Mendelssohn, Villa-Lobos, and Fructuoso Vianna. In addition, Professor Goulart will perform the world premiere of Two Waltzes in Medieval Modes and Ethnic Scales by Israeli composer Ami Maayani.
