Coming to the Redfern: Matthew Odell

The Keene State College Music Department opens its 2010-11 season with a solo piano recital by guest artist Matthew Odell on Friday, September 24, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., in the Alumni Recital Hall, Redfern Arts Center on Brickyard Pond. The recital is free and open to the public.

The performance will feature piano music by American composers, including Edward MacDowell, Amy Beach, John Adams, and UNH Professor Michael Annicchiarico.

New Hampshire native Matthew Odell recently completed his doctoral studies in piano performance at The Juilliard School in New York City. Dr. Odell has appeared in concert at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and other leading venues in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He has also appeared with the New York Philharmonic, Juilliard Orchestra, and the AXIOM Ensemble. In addition, he is a founding member of The Hampton Trio and the American Art Song Festival.
