About the Center for Writing
Mission: The Center for Writing promotes effective writing and thinking by offering a variety of services for both students and faculty. We work with students to improve their writing and with faculty to support their effectiveness as teachers of writing. Through this collective effort, the Center acts as an advocate for strengthening the role of writing in our academic community.
Trained peer tutors conduct more than 1,400 one-on-one sessions per year with Keene State students. Many sessions are initiated at faculty request. Students may arrive at the Center with questions about grammar and punctuation, but often leave with greater clarity about the content and quality of their thoughts and claims.
Interested in becoming a Center for Writing Tutor? Register for II 199: Tutoring Research and Writing, offered in the Spring 2018 semester (Fridays, 11am-1:30pm). Students who successfully complete this course will be invited to apply to be a Center for Writing tutor for the Fall 2018 semester.
